Creating calm in chaos…
Who am I?
Glenn Northern is a Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher, experienced meditator, and life-long social justice advocate, who believes in the power of compassion to transform the world. He loves music, trees, cats and dogs, poetry, fantasy, pesto, science fiction and D&D. His “approach” is not bound to any particular tradition but rather finds inspiration in the many daily miraculous ways we are pointed home.

Most people in non profit organizations work hard. They believe in their organization’s mission and want to make a better world. Sometimes being a person who cares about others can feel like a heavy load to shoulder, especially in a world that seems increasingly to equate kindness with weakness. How do we navigate our current geography of intense suffering? I have been part of many conversations where people grapple with how to balance witnessing the daily onslaught of suffering and not give in to dread, rage or despair. The 24 hour news cycle and the pull of social media attempt to bind us to a steady diet of despondency and endless doomscrolling.
An alternative does however, exist. Put differently, there are ways we can take care of ourselves and our communities even, or perhaps especially, when crisis after crisis seems to demand our attention and suffering multiplies.
Half hour session with certified mindfullness meditation teacher. I am not a counselor or therapist but I can provide compassionate space, offer a listening presence and we can sit together in healing mindfulness
Meet online for a half hour one on one meditation. Six sessions.
Sometimes you know in advance that you want more than one session….
The six weeks instruction is set up with a different reflection and focus for each week based on your own personal journey towards freedom.
This one hour group session will explore mindfulness meditation and ways that individuals and groups can reinforce taking care of themselves and others.
Though prices are listed my hope is that they will not interfere with our ability to work together. Contact me and we can make arrangements.
Scheduling time
In the bustle of ‘busyness” we race from project to project, task to task checking off accomplishments on our to do list (and believe me there is nothing wrong with a good list, after all the Buddha himself was the consummate list maker.) We pursue efficiency and economy and consequently schedule all our activities these days, but…
how often do we “schedule” time for ourselves?
how often do we take time out to be with ourselves?
Take a moment now to indulge in an act of self-compassion.
Schedule a moment to rest in CompassionateSpace.
